THE TIME OF THE BLUE CANOE
by Dennis McCormack
Heat fires gifting, old worlds passing
Above us, around us, within us,
Your voice from heaven came
Mixed with painted leaves
On our pathway to the stars
Moonlight partings treat
A favour planned under our feet
For your heart and mine to dwell upon.
Forests appeared at pathways end
Images in waters refreshing.
A striking Blue in your blue canoe
Never seen before or since
Stirring dreams for visits new,
Paddles touching foamy skies,
Chamouni sunrises warming us
Melodies vigor notes unique
Bursting Into silence sweet
Waters splashing over us and smooth rock
At Keji, Beach and Hemlock standing.
